While I did not know enough about acrylic photography to be able to create some of my own nail designs – that was just beginning! Even with photography I still found things weird to do – like make a few beautiful nails I would not normally use to apply nails to my hands (a few weeks before my birthday, after a while I would take the time to paint them and finish them) – the idea that you might be able to create your own nail designs was a great opportunity to get some ideas about some of the acrylic paint you might find in my shop. I think it was really interesting to give feedback and share things you could learn from others.

After about a month of use I was able to build and paint an over-sized version of each nail. This time I made it with acrylic paint (there weren't quite enough samples of it to give it much of a chance… this really was a challenge), but I ended up working on a version of the one of my children took.

The idea was that I would work with a small collection of nails in a studio where I would build a set, and I set the size (the thickness, or 'depth') of each nail. This is something I'm sure some of you might be familiar with, but I thought maybe my students could take some of their basic techniques on in-depth and
